Unfortunately, it is impossible at this time to heal type 1 diabetes (although they are doing some remarkable  research in this field and one day may find a cure).

This does not mean that you cannot benefit tremendously from a diabetic diet.  By controlling your sugar intake and your diet, you can substantially lower your insulin requirements.  Some people are even able to stop taking insulin shots and start taking oral diabetes medication instead once they start following a carefully planned diabetic diet.</description>
